Well well, The Kelburn Garden Party is just over a week away, can you believe it! Now seems like a good time to go over some of the “off-stage” attractions that are available to all our lovely guests next weekend.
Topper-most has to be The Secret Forest Project, a surreal and mysterious walk-through trail packed with odd characters from an imagined fairytale history, a hit with kits and adults alike. It is open both days of the festival between 1pm and 3pm.
Another key feature of the Garden Party are the Special Treats that take place around the site. You’ll need to catch the pied pipers or find a special flyer to find out about them, and if you do, it’ll be well worth it. They might include acoustic performances from various acts (including an orchestra!!) in the stunning formal gardens, a skanking session up the glen, a fireshow at the wooden fort, a samba drumming circle up the hill, and lots more besides!
Of course while you’re enjoying all these delights, you’ll need some good food and drink to sustain you. Fear not! We have some great offerings this year, from a Japanese Kitchen and woodfired pizza to artisan ales, bespoke cocktails and proper coffee.
For the wee ones, we are creating a mini wonderland for them to lose themselves in. The Midget Fort will be a stimulating and supervised play area that will include such activities and block printing, instrument building, reading and singing and disco dancing! For slightly older kids the adventure playground will be a test of any nerve.
So even aside from all the amazing music and performance on offer, you’ll never have a moments boredom at this year’s Garden Party. See you here! xx
