J star is an in-demand crowd-rocking genre-switching DJ, bustin out bass flavoured shakers from DnB to Dancehall, Moombahton to Dubstep, Reggae, 60′s RnB and more.
Rumour has it that some years ago, the controversial remixer escaped a major record label and made a series of classic reggae/hip hop mashups on limited 7” vinyl (such as ‘No Diggity’, ‘Tooting Gangsta’, ‘Unbreak my dub’ and ‘Wooh-star’). Perhaps they made it into record boxes of worldwide DJs Sir Norman Jay, David Rodigan, Grandmaster Flash, John Peel, Benji B, Oneman, Diplo and others – but these are only unfounded rumours and tittle tattle (legal disclaimer)! Maybe when all the planets align and cosmic energy is at its fullest shall we find out.
J Star has produced over 50 remixes for Madness, DJ Vadim, The Black seeds, Ari Up, Mark Ronson, Dreadsquad, Tenor Fly…and all the others. J Star goes from strength to strength DJing and performing with his various noise boxes across the planet from Mexico to Manchester, Berlin to Budapest, and Kelburn Garden Party will see his Scottish debut for a festival closing set of party bombs.
