The Last September play the starkly honest and heartfelt songs of Pete Deane.
September 2011 saw the release of their second album As The Crow Flies, featuring Poppy Ackroyd of Hidden Orchestra, as well as the production skills of Ali Petrie (Hobotalk). With comparisons ranging from The Blue Nile to Fleetwood Mac, highlights include future single, the Jeff Buckley-esque Sing, which soars with its lush strings and close harmonies. Awarding the album a four star review, The List described this accomplished collection of songs a ‘very graceful listen’.
First single from the album, Precious Time, proved to be a bloggers favourite, catching the attention of Peenko, The Tidal Wave of Indifference, EdRock.net and Whitetapes amongst others, and gaining airplay from Jim Gellatly.
Having originally formed in 2003, the band released their acclaimed first album Vagrant Song in 2005. It featured the single Streetlite, which earned airplay on BBC Radio 2, amongst other stations.
2012 looks set to be a busy year for the band. They will be taking their stunning live show around the country, featuring gigs across Scotland in the springtime, and festival appearances in the summer.
