Gurry Wurry is an oddball. From the other side of his piano, he writes silly little songs about his feelings, and silly little sentences about his stature as an artist.
The Skinny called him “the good kind of weird”, and Vic Galloway described him as “Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci meets Randy Newman”, which is about as close as anyone’s come to hitting this particularly wonky nail on the head. If you’re into eclectic and intimate avant-pop like the Magnetic Fields and Gruff Rhys, you might be into this.
Gurry Wurry’s difficult third album Glue will be released in 2026, produced by Frightened Rabbit’s Andy Monaghan.
