Drawing upon his broad life experience, including a traumatic upbringing after being adopted, rapper Conscious Route uses an introspective understanding of his past, aligned with the philosophy and injustice of the unfolding cultural and political landscape, to create conscious narratives with social commentary influenced by a diverse range of musical styles.
Originally born in London, Conscious Route cut his teeth in the underground with Fugazirum, learning to hone his craft under producer Huss. Working in the studio, he took in house, dance, D&B, hip-hop and trip-hop until Fugazirum went from being a hip-hop outfit to a blues/hip-hop 6-piece band.
After moving to Edinburgh, Conscious Route developed his craft with Monosapiens, creating the Urban Folk Crowd, as well as working with the elite of Scottish and UK hip hop. Conscious Route consistently pushes to put Scotland on the map.
Conscious Route has put out over 30 releases in the past decade alone, including his internationally acknowledged Lost Routes album and his recent, highly acclaimed Belterz album.
He has had international airplay and support, including from BBC Introducing Scotland, BBC6 Music Introducing, Rinse FM, Itch FM, Thames FM, Soho Radio and Amazing Radio among others.
