Affectionately dubbed the “First Lady of Drum & Bass,” Storm has always been one of the most influential DJs within drum & bass, known for her tight mixing skills and an exclusive selection.
Her distinctly thunderous sound is rooted in the nascent days of hardcore, when she and her DJ partner Kemistry were inspired by Fabio & Grooverider’s performances at club night Rage to forge their own path into the breakbeat scene. When Goldie founded Metalheadz, Kemistry and Storm were at the label’s centre, helping to recruit new artists and showcase the evolving drum & bass scene at The Blue Note and on their seminal DJ-Kicks mix – one of the most popular compilations in the series.
Kemistry tragically passed away in 2004, but Storm continues to carry the duo’s torch, spreading her love for drum & bass and vinyl beyond the d&b community to events like Houghton Festival, Dekmantel, and Ben UFO’s XOYO residency.
She has toured the world over and continues to enthral crowds wherever she goes. Recipient of the best female DJ award four years running at the National Drum and Bass Awards, Storm’s powerful and professional style remains a strong favourite with true drum & bass fans.
