Acolyte is a poetic and psychedelic ensemble based in Edinburgh, who blend music and spoken word to create spellbinding live performances.
Fronted by the award-winning poet Iona Lee, the band crafts immersive shows that blur the line between concert and theatre. Iona’s lyrical storytelling is underscored by the atmospheric bass lines of Ruairidh Morrison (Nomoss/The Microband), the lush synth textures and ethereal backing vocals of Gloria Black (Maranta/Microsteria), and the experimental percussion of Daniel Hill (Land Surveyor).
Together, Acolyte fuse hypnotic loops, harmonic depth, and existential motifs to create truly unique work.
