al gu and Buckfast Barbie are making their Kelburn debut this year! Buckfast Barbie is the head honcho in charge of the Import.WAV Saloon takeover this year and they are so excited to go back to back with Sláinte Mhath creator and Faerie Circle co-creator al gu.
These two dj’s love all things booty bouncing bass, expect genres of non-stop movement from electro, footwork, baile funk, percussive, dembow, latin bass and maybe a small donk on it. They have made a strong name for themselves in Edinburgh and Scotland alike. Both imports (Buckfast Barbie from Minnesota, USA, al gu being Turkish while also having heritage/lived in Greece, Germany and the USA) their work is focused on bringing global sounds to enhance the diversity of the Scottish scene.
Between their selections of tunes and dj’s they book there is a deep love for connecting the larger global scene to their chosen home of Scotland. Buckfast Barbie is so excited to be hosting the Import takeover at the saloon this year, it is her favorite place to be! The goal of this years take over is to amplify international voices and the impact they have on the Scottish scene. Saturday saloon is sure to be a proper knees up affair!
