Microsteria returns to Kelburn Garden Party for its largest ever Creature Gathering in the Neverending Glen, responding to the 2026 theme “Under the Surface”.
Born from immersive performance collaborations by electronic duo Maranta with costume collective VOMITON, visual artist Chell Young, and movement artist/choreographer Hannah Deus-Draper, Microsteria first emerged through ‘A Symbiotic Circus’ at Hidden Door Festival 2022. Since then, it has evolved into a club-orientated world combining electronically mutated music, visuals, costume and performance art.
Following its Kelburn debut in 2024 at the Viewpoint Stage and Beech Plateau in 2025, Microsteria returns on Sunday 5th July 2026 where they will lead a procession of creatures from the Kelburn Castle right up to The Beech Plateau, with music curated by Earthly Measures.
This edition brings together performance artists, dancers, acrobats and costumed participants honouring Kelburn’s enchanting ecosystem. The Beech Plateau will become a temporary symbiotic circus where what lives under the surface rises in celebration of the micro-made-massive!
